Two days after bronchiectasis diagnosis...

Two days after being diagnosed with bronchiectasis - after many "blow into a tube" tests (among others) - I went to the international glass festival, "blew into a tube"...

...and made a bauble!

It felt amazing (and much easier on the lungs than I expected). My summer of diagnostics was transformed into a creative process, producing something I find beautiful.

The final article arrived today (after the professional glass blowers did whatever finishing procedure was required), and I'm really pleased with it.

That's beautiful ...i used to work in the Edinburgh Crystal department in a shop ..we went to the factory one day and the glass blowers were amazing ...enjoy your bauble not just for Christmas hang it all year round as a mark of achievement xxxx

Lovely and a very positive reaction to your diagnosis. As a long term bronch I shocked my 'well' colleagues by being the only person who could blow up the balloons brought in for a function. This is thanks to a lifetime of controlling my breathing. Welcome to a very exclusive club.

That is wonderful GhostDinosaur, wouldn't it be great if every time we did the spiro or full lung function test we got a glass bauble, I would have a wonderful decorated home and garden by now

Sounds great, we have a glass blowing place at Sunderland which I've been and watched with my daughter, and grandchildren, but I never had a go, that's definitely on my to do list now. Thanks
