No good to me then as I cant take aspirin long term,stomach ulcers.
I have stomach problems, and I could not take aspirin either, but when the doctor told me to take it to help avoid blood clots, I tried an 81 mg coated aspirin called Ecotrin. I was surprised that after years of not being able to tolerate aspirin, I could take the Ecotrin without too much stomach up-set. I have been taking it for 2 years now.
I have asthma and copd and allergic to aspirin ,I think most people who have asthma are

Thanks still trucking interesting I was rushed to hospital swollen face throat , couldn't speak .Now carry epi pen as I have different allergies

I take 75mg every other day - with a meal. I posted a link to the latest on the risk/benefit ratio lower down. I did the research and didn't consult a doctor first, but of course it is recommended that you do so.

Dispersible aspirin.
Best to take soluble... ( better for the stomach lining )...after food.
Dissolve in water and I add a dash of orange, as I don't like the taste

Hi Ruby...75mg Daily after food, as prescribed by the Cardiac Consultant when I was in hospital recently.
Mr Velvet is doing great, and is getting about on crutches.. He may be allowed home tomorrow...Fingers crossed

I've been taking 75mg daily since my angiogram last November. Be a real bonus if it helped my lung problems as well. Although the study does state 'early emphysema' it would be nice to think it could work for people woth longstanding illness too.
Well that's interesting, & I hadnt seen it before. Aspirin's been around 100+ years but seems a bit of a wonder drug, so many uses. I have GERD & take 40mg omeprazole so dont know if I can take it.
My diagnosis is in doubt, but can you clear something up for me? The article mentions emphysema causing alveoli to "become less efficient due to overinflation". I thought they became narrower, and it was conditions like bronchiectasis in which the alveoli widened? I'm confused now. R
In bronchiectasis it's the airways that are abnormally widened.

I had tummy lining erosion problems with soluble aspirin 75 mg dose.. but I take enteric coated now without problem. If you take blood 'thinners' like Clopidogrel or Warfarin you must talk to your GP. You may be able to stop clopidogrel completely and substitute daily aspirin.
No good for me, I'm on Warfarin for life.
