Just seen an advert on TV from BLF promoting the use of Aerosure! I didn't know this was an accepted and proven treatment?

Hi

The metholgy in the way it works as always been accepted, the difference between this device and others are it is a two in one device, and it is motorised so no effort Is required by the user.

The cost as always been an issue, at the moment it on special offer.

Apart from the initial purchase they also recommend changing the head every six months at a cost of £29.

Makes me laugh. That woman who advertises it would no way be able to run as she does if she had COPD. Also, notice how happy it makes her to use it! What rubbish, I bought one and it was useless and I definitely wouldn't recommend it. It was initially only available from Boots the chemist, but you can now buy it on line a bit cheaper. It's just another flutter device of which sales did not go as expected - hence a drop in price, but a waste of money at any cost!

In that case I am disappointed BLF decided to run it. Maybe they would care to comment? x

Hi coughalot1, thank you for your post, I can confirm that this is NOT an advert run or paid for by the BLF.

Aerosure is a product by Actegy (it is their ad) who are donating £1 for each of their products sold in support of lung research and services - we do not, however, endorse this product and have always tried to make that clear. As a charity that lives on donations from its supporters, we sometimes work with companies that want to help our cause, these decisions are always carefully reviewed.

If you have any questions about medication you should always speak to your GP or practice nurse first. You can also call our Helpline to speak to one of our specialist respiratory nurses on 03000 030 555.

I hope that clears that up for you, if you have any other questions, however, please email enquiries@blf.org.uk. Take care, Teresa

You're quite right, our logo does appear in some of their ads but this is just to demonstrate that they are donating £1 to us x

Thank you for that. I did see the advert a second time and that is now clear. But I still think it did give the product an air of 'officialdom'. x

It is a shame that it is not clear on the advert that the BLF is not endorsing the product - having seen the advert now it certainly indicates that the BLF are endorsing it. TAD

To BLF

Thank you for the clarification. Whilst it does say this copany 'is in partnership with BLF in the raising of funds' in the advert, to anyone looking in without any previous knowledge I feel the perception would be that BLF is endorsing it.
