please forgive any ignorance on our part for this question, as and when one has to apply for p.i.p does d.l.a continue in payment until such time p.i.p kicks in or you you left in limbo without any money coming in, so hard to find any facts on this process.

My understanding of it all, is that you will stay on DLA until such time as the DWP decision maker reviews the paperwork assessment or physical assessment for your eligibility for PIP.

I became too old -65! - to be affected. But my wife who is 10 years younger will be affecte. She received the dreadful brown envelope. I told her to talk to her occupational therapist, since she is in an institution with bipolar disease. They say "we might interview you to see if you are fit for work"! It always hangs over disabled people. My wife had disability allowance for most part of her life.

I agree, that's my understanding too. All people on the old DLA will eventually be re-assessed, so sit tight!

the dwp will contact you when you need to change from dla to pip but that can be several years away unless your award is coming up for renewal or there is a change in your circumstances

Yes it seems if you are on DLA then you will have to go though the new PIP at some point not a lot has changed except for the mobility side has changed from 50 Metres to 20 metres which is a complete Joke as building regs. state that disability parking should be no more than 50 metres away from an entrance.

The big problem is all DWP time lines have gone off track and all are miles away from what they should be. ESA assessments are taking up to 18 months not 13 weeks as they state.
