20 Practical Uses for Coca Cola… Proof That Coke Does Not Belong In the Human Body - Thought...

thoughtpursuits.com

Coke is the most valuable brand in history, and “Coca-Cola” is the world’s second-most recognized word after “hello.” However, the beverage itself is an absolute poison to the human metabolism. Coke is very close to the acidity level of battery acid and consequently it can clean surfaces equivalent…People who consume soft drinks such as Coke have a 48% increase in heart attack and stroke risk, compared to people who did not drink the sodas at all or did not drink them every day. A study published in the journal Respirology reveals that soft drink consumption is also associated with lung and breathing disorders including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

That'll be to do with the fizz Holly, it bloats the tum leaving less room for lung expansion when breathing.

The only thing to do with Coke is to pour it down a drain ;-)

Hollyhockhattie, well never drunk coke so can't blame it for my demise. But it does have a lot to answer for when it comers to your health. I personally think it tastes disgusting but our children lap more of it up than milk. I think in should have it's recipe change so it causes less health issues

It should have a health warning too, like cigs . . .

Yikes Holly! Pete loves the horrible muck and has bought cans of it on offer from Tesco. I may just go and let him know how bad it really is though just to see if he will get rid of it. I don't drink it as the sugar is way too high. Thanks for that thought provoking post. Take care. xxxx

Hi Holly, I don't drink the stuff and never bought t for my family but my son certainly drinks loads of it - shriek! I'd better warn him. Thank you. :-) :-) Alison

As this is based purely on epidemiology - i.e. that those drinking more Coke were more likely to have asthma or COPD - there is an explanation other than there being a causal link . . .

Because caffeine is a bronchdilator it is probable that Coke, which contains caffeine, will be preferentially consumed by those with breathing difficulties . . .

Just to be different...when I was recovering from pneumonia the only thing I wanted to drink and made me feel better was cola. Still here... but I only drink it now when I feel ill.

I don't recommend it to anyone else though.

That's interesting flib. I hate cola and all pop. Sometimes I have grown aspergill. Also obviously with pretty constant abs we often have to take Fluconazole- would it also be the case that these would have to be taken with coke and if you can't tolerate coke what else would you take.

love cx

My step father always said if you want to see how bad coke is for you put a dirty coin in a glass of coke overnight and see how the acid (as you say as battery acid) will clean it and eat the metal - yuck - thanks for reminding me xx
