Because of my frequent headaches and increasing food intolerances I thought I would check out a couple of other Health Unlocked sites....mmmmmm.....just to say I think this one was the best of the ones I did look at....friendly and funny and informative.

You hit the nail right on the head there Jambo. We are obviously the attraction. Perhaps we could charge the BLF appearance money. lol

I suffer from coeliac disease, so also joined that one, but bot the same as here.

The allergy website is dead, I wonder why they set it up!

This site is great :-)

You said intolerance rather than allergy, what things can't you eat and what happens?

My diagnosis was multiple food allergy, but I do know exactly what but won't bother listing the whole lot here haha. There are groups of things that go together of course. My arm almost exploded from the skin tests LOL then the RAST tests put them into classes. It all matched my feeling of what and to what extent.

I thought it was well known there was a correlation between headaches and food intolerances ....

Do you get any headache symptoms with your allergic reactions to food, koala?

Hi Knitter, I've got to agree with you, there are some dire sites under the healthunlocked banner. I had looked around before signing up to this one. This one is definitely lively and full of intelligent conversations - albeit off the wall at times :)

Hope your headaches aren't caused by too much time on the computer:

From NHS Choices, Eye safety page:

nhs.uk/Livewell/Eyehealth/P...

Using computers

Dr Blakeney says that computers are a common cause of problems in her patients. While they won’t cause lasting damage to the eyes, working for long periods of time on the computer can strain them or make the symptoms of existing eye conditions worse. Symptoms include eye discomfort, headaches, itchy eyes and difficulty in focusing.

Rest the eyes while working on the computer. Look regularly at more distant objects. For example, stare out of the window during your thinking time. Take frequent breaks from computer work. Visit the optometrist regularly for eye check-ups, and make sure they know you use computers often.

Adequate lighting

Ensure that you're working in well-lit conditions but without light reflecting off the computer screen as this can cause eye strain or headaches.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

Nice to hear, knitter, must be because we are a well-rounded sympathetic bunch, with slight kooky overtones sometimes :) xx

Chocolate and cheese are the worst culprits...now its wheat and maize flour too...I forget to check the labels before I eat something like cook-in sauces or even gravy...a real literal pain!

As my breathing has got worse so have the intolerances, don't know if its a side effect of my medications or just age.

Thanks for your help
