My sister has severe rheumatoid arthritus and recently developed pcp - would a living lung transplant be an option ?

In order to have a lung transplant the illness has to be pretty severe but not so severe that the patient would have difficulty recovering from such a major operation. I personally have no experience of either of the conditions your sister has, maybe someone else will come along and be able to answer your question better. Your sister should speak to her consultant about it really, or you could phone the BLF helpline, 10 - 6 Mon to Fri, on 03000 030 555 or email them - enquiries@blf-uk.org, they are very knowledgeable.
