Consistent care, how do I find it?

I have had heart rhythm problems since 2020, had two cardioversions and been prescribed just about every combination of meds with little effect. My problem is that every time I attended the cardiac clinic at my local hospital I would see a different locum consultant who would change the previous plan, order various tests and then never see me again. I kept being told I needed an ablation but the referral was never made. Eventually I went privately and had a stent and ablation (on different days) and all was amazing for a time. I'm now back in the rounds of having really impacting rhythm disturbances (I can't walk up stairs or walk any distance due to shortness of breath and severe dizziness on top of excessive bouts of AFib). I can't afford to keep going privately but it I go to my GP they send me to A/E where I'll be seen by the duty cardiologist who makes a plan, starts different meds and then the following day another cardiologist will appear and change everything (one scary person said there was nothing wrong with my heart and stopped all my meds there and then!). I can't get past the dysfunctional local cardiology dept to be seen by the regional centre and don't know what to do. I feel I can no longer go to the GP as I'm fed up with being 'admitted' to A/E which means days in the corridor, and all the while my heart issues get worse. I have complained and got nowhere, even went to the ombudsman who said they wouldn't investigate as the hospital had replied to my complaint.

Any suggestions of how to get through this would be welcome. Thanks

maybe phone the cardiac nurses on BHF (info on their website) for advice as to how to proceed?

I worked as a non-medical person on a hospital board fifteen years ago. At that time this was seen as a constant problem. What that particular hospital did was start a new service called “modern matrons” whereby when an older person has been to A and E more than once is a six month period with cardio problems, the “modern matron” would contact the patient for a discussion and she might make a home visit.
