bisoprolol 1.25mg withdrawal? Help?

Hi, I'm 30 I got out on propononl first of all last September due to panic attacks and ist symptoms, ended up having bad reaction to it so weaned off of it and had many horrible tachy side effects afterwards until February this year. I got given bisoprolol 1.25mg one a day which seems to help with the symptoms and calm the hr but after many tests with cardiologists now seem to suggest my fast hr is driven by anxiety and I can come off the bisoprolol. Because it's so low they said just to stop or over a week take one every other day. Well I tried this and on the first missed day by 2pm sitting down my hr spiked up to 160 and was unbearable so I gave in to it and failed coming off. My body I think is very sensitive to meds. And my anxiety also doesn't help me . I'm wondering if there is suggestions of any other ways to come off slower and safer? To avoid this rebound tachy?

Hello :-)

I am sensitive to meds and also have anxiety so the moment I am told to start or stop something I get anxious which I feel does not help with the symptoms I feel

It is a low dose and I have to take Bisoprolol I have no choice and on a higher dose and I have not often missed taking it by mistake and not noticed any difference even though I have taken it straight away the day after so I wonder if after your last experience of stopping a med if it is playing on your mind and when we are anxious our heart rates can go up

I do not think they would have told you to do this if they felt it was not the right thing to do and you would be ok it might be a case that over a week you have to as I do hang on in there till you get through it and the anxiety goes down and your confidence comes back up again :-)

If you really cannot do this then you need to speak with your Doctor but I hope you can :-)

Let us know how you get on :-) x
