Recently admitted with palpitations and ectopic topic beats possibly due to too much caffeine too much walking in temp of 27plus degrees and some dehydration on holiday. Following tests found to have mitral regurgitation and left atrium dilation possibly due to high blood pressure for years. No artery blockages or heart attack. Also maybe now a diagnose of microvascularv angina which should have been found 2 years ago when i had similar symptoms. Now on 8 different medications. BP keeps dropping, having continence issues and cough. Emotions up and down. Discharged with very little advice and an appt came for consultant for a years time. So difficult to see GP and when you do there advice is general whicb is understandable Having worked as a nurse in NHS fof 47 years I am sad that it this is the current state. Feel i might have to pay for an earlier appt which goes against the grain.
Atrium dilation, mitral regurgitation... - British Heart Fou...
Atrium dilation, mitral regurgitation, microvascular angina, lack of advice, polypharmacy, our NHS today
I knownit goes against the grain, but we can support our nhs while also taking a step away from them to gain a better quality of life. I am horrified by the nhs cardiac care - vivienne ezzat is amazing if u do look for someone.Sorry to hear of your experience you deserved so much better ♥️
as an ex-nurse I can identify with your feelings as of disappointment with the NHS
microvascular issues are very poorly understood by cardiologists and what info there is has not filtered down to everyone else yet, so it can be very hard to get reliable treatment and support
I do not have this as far as I know, but I have experience of two other poorly understood conditions and know that not all doctors react well when you become your own expert through finding out for yourself and end up knowing more than them! but this becomes necessary
I hope that Milkfairy will step in and respond to your post, their knowledge and experience of microvascular issues is invaluable and reliable
I also hope that you find answers and more help with your condition soon
