Myoview scan

I've been asked to book a myoview scan because they couldn't see enough on the stress echo. Has anyone had this scan? Do you have to lie on your back for long? I can't lie on my back for longer than 10 mins due to arthritis in my spine causing really bad pain. I've been trying to get more info from cardiology but so far haven't heard back from them.

never heard of a Myoview scan - is this the same as myocardial perfusion scan?

have you tried looking it up

I think it is unprofessional of your doctor not to explain the test, how can you consent to being booked for a test you know nothing about?

A Myoview scan, also known as a myocardial perfusion scan or MPI scan, is a nuclear cardiology test that assesses blood flow to the heart muscle. It can help diagnose coronary heart disease, evaluate the extent of the disease, and analyze heart damage from a heart attack. The scan uses a small amount of radioactive tracer and a gamma camera to compare blood supply to the heart muscle during rest and stress.

Thanks for the reply. I think it is a myocardial perfusion scan, just wish they'they'd get back to me so I can discuss it with them.

thanks for the reply. I think it might be a myocardial Perfusion scan, that's what kept coming up when I googled it. According to Google I'd have to lay flat for quiet a while and the pain in my back just won't let me do that. I don't really understand why she wants me to have the test because about a year ago she told me I needed 3 stents but my arteries were so tiny they didn't have stents small enough, when that happens they would normally do surgery but due to my other health conditions they can't do that because I wouldn't recover.

most hospitals issue their own info about tests but this is available on the British Heart Foundation site: bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo...
