Sorry to see that no one has replied as I have read posts before when others have had to make this decision maybe they have not been on when you posted and saw it
I have no answers for you but could suggest posting again or even giving the BHF Nurses a ring and see if they can talk you through them and it could help then to know which would be best for you
Let us know how you get on x

thank you - I looked and researched for ever and then decided on surgical repair as having a better outcome albeit a longer recovery, ie 6 weeks rather than 2 days. The clip improves things, the surgical repair stitches floppy leaflets together with a new support ring underneath and is supposed to stop regurgitation altogether. Surgery is tomorrow morning at 8 am ! I’ll post again when the brain cell has awakened!
I am so pleased you have made a choice and that your surgery is tomorrow I can imagine your brain been all over the place I was a state when I was having my Bypass surgery but you are in good hands and recovery will go quickly
Good luck and I look forward to hearing how you get on x
hallo, honestly? It was a lot tougher than I had imagined and the first two days after the very good op I was so weak and devoid of energy. Progress has been a case of a few good days and one bad day but, now, 2.5 months after I’m so pleased I’ve been repaired! Still occasionally short of breath but I have energy and optimism in spades. I was told the op was so successful I’ll not need heart surgery again and for that I’m grateful. It is super scary but for me it was super successful. Take care of yourself too.
I am still on mini aspirin, Bisoprolol but I’m now off Furosemide, Atorvastatin and Losartan and feel much more with it with reasonable bp as opposed to 95/65! I was advised, and it helped, to memorise a poem for those long middle of the night hours when you worry about everything! I chose the one about Monarch butterflies not flying in a storm. Fingers crossed that you get a date soon because the wait is pretty awful. Gillph
