please contact your doctors surgery to discuss a change in symptoms (or phone 111).
Good morning. Its best to contact your doctor to get checked out and they will probably put you on water tablets to deal with the Odema. And that will help you overall. Your doctor knows best. Brian
i agree with Happyrosie and Bingo88 but would add: in the meantime try to avoid standing still for long periods, if you must do this try to walk on the spot, shift your weight from one leg to the other etc to keep the circulation moving in your legs
keeping your calf muscles active helps to return blood from your feet towards your heart, this helps to draw fluid (oedema) from there and back to the heart instead of pooling at the lowest points of your body
try to sit with your feet up, and do the leg exercises recomended for long flights and after surgery - these are aimed at keeping the circulation in your legs going back to your heart
also, regular deep, abdominal breathing which invloves your whole chest and tummy helps to keep your blood circulating and move built up fluid (oedema)
raising the foot end of your matress a bit also helps, e.g. a pillow or two under it or under your feet if that is not possible
i hope you get this resolved soon
