Hi all

i posted before about the great change in my EF from 30 to 55. I believe the combination of entresto and the other drugs I take plus and a big plus - keeping going with all the things I did before my HF diagnosis. Ive had quite a time over the last three years - four dislocations of my artifical hip in 8 months, heartt failure diagnosis etc.

I believe my regular walking and good diet are the key to my improvements - mentally I am great now and that certainly helps.

i struggled with nausea when I started all the meds but no longer have that.

If you can find a walking buddy and start like I did five years ago - 500 metres each day for a week, 1 km daily ffor a week and build up to 10 km per day

I go early so that the two hours of exercise don't eat up my day and also its not too hot - we are in a heatwave here in NZ at the moment - so swimming happens any time but walking when its cooler.

I found only buying healthy food and having a good garden full of greens helped with my eating - but to say I've always had a healthy diet.

The big thing I did was mostly cut out alcohol - only have a drink occasionally but really don't want it or need it. I felt so much better without my one or two glasses of wine daily - plus I have more money to pay a gym membership and go swimming at our local pool.

Hope this is helpful - next stop cardiologist appointment on the 12 March -when I'll get to find out al the test results and result of my heart scan.

I will keep you posted

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Love this . Same with me , walking my Lurcher 4k daily , running 5k 3 times a week , challenging yoga class 2 times a week, physical , sweaty work around the small holding everyday. Booze really doesn’t do it for me anymore, even at big social events , reunions etc I’ll maybe enjoy a pint then go non alcoholic. I Sweat everyday , and have just started to take electrolytes, I think it has helped quite a bit. A couple of tweaks on nutrition , no ultra processed foods like sausages , ham , chorizo or ready meals , make my own breads (loaves, pita, flat ) for less sugar/salt. Having time to do all this really helps , retirement is ace , sad that I had to have an Nstemi and quadruple bypass aged 61 though 🤦🏼. Glad that I’m making a fantastic recovery , that’s pure gold 🙌🏻

Great stuff. Nice to hear positive story like this. So have all your heart failure symptoms vanished? I would love to get as active as this but struggle with the heart pains and the worry of it making things worse.
