Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe

Greetings,

Currently on 20mg of Rosuvastatin and discussing with my cardiologist about reducing the statin and adding ezetimibe to achieve my target LDL of 50 but with a lower dose of statin. I work out a lot and do get a lot of muscle spasms..etc. I'm not sure it's the statin, but if I can achieve my targets with a lower statin, it seems like a win. Has anyone else combined Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe? What were the results? I'm going to try 5mg of Rosuvastatin and 10mg of Ezetimibe and meet with my Doctor in 3 months to evaluate.

Just read your message…I have AVS and due to side effects with statins my consultant is testing me out with this combination of pills.. Firstly 10 mgs of Ezetemibe for three months,we have now introduced 5 mgs of Rosuvastatin…

Not had any tests yet so I won’t know any results ..I will let you know when I do.

I started taking 5mg Rosuvastatin over a year ago due to my cholesterol being high which concerned me greatly, as my diet was quite good. I didn't want to be on statins, but felt I should try them and see if they would lower my cholesterol to normal range. I've had no side effects which was my main worry and my cholesterol reduced considerably. I don't take any other medication. Hope this helps.
