New zest for life

It's now been almost 6 months since my 4x bypass and I have been gradually increasing my walking exercise and set various goals. I wanted to share with you all that yesterday I achieved my goal of walking into the city via the canal path, 8 miles in all, about 16k steps I am so proud of myself. 6 months ago I didn't think I would be leaving the hospital let alone doing this so it has given me a massive boost. In the last few weeks I seem to have turned a real corner and have a new found zest for life and exercise, I can't get enough (I used to be that person who got in the car to go to the shop on the next street) so wanted to share this for the benefit of those of you who might be like I was at the start and could not see any future. Life is great, and I am totally freaked out that I now feel back to how I did in my twenties (in every way and I'm almost 50). Dont dismis yourself, it does get better trust me.

Thank you. It's going great, better than I ever imagined. I'm going on a 20k walk tomorrow and can't wait.
