Hey guys,
I recently received my follow up letter from my Echo/Cardiologist and wondered if someone might be able to help translate it a little as I'm quite anxious.
The notes are below:-
"The study found normal bi-ventricular size and systolic function (EF=66% by 3DE, GLS= -
18.7% by 2D-STE) and no obvious RWMAs detected. A mild LVH was observed being more confined to
the basal septum (1.3cm) without LVOT-obstruction at rest. Mildly thickened leading edges of the
aortic valve was seen with borderline stenotic opening (PPG=13mmHg) and a slight AR. Minimally
thickened mitral valve leaflet was noted with a mild MR resulted into a non-dilated LA. The proximal
aortic sizes were normal and a slight TR gave an estimated PASP of 34mmHg.
These findings were reassuring and explained the faint systolic heart murmur heard but did not
confirm significant malformations, as such. It remains still possible that the mild changes described,
however, might contribute to the atypical chest complaints and the ectopic atrial rhythm. His cardiac
investigations have been ongoing with pending Holter ECG recording do detect any arrhythmias."
Is the above worrisome at all? I'm not able to speak to my cardiologist for a few weeks and my mind is wondering so much about it.
Thanks so much for the time.
