I was put on entresto I only managed to get to the medium dose, as I couldn't function on the highest dose. Can anyone tell me if they found the medium dose to be effective in terms of improvement to their ejection fraction please.

hi

I went onto the medium dose about 12 months ago, I struggled at first with fatigue but have felt quite a lot better in recent months. My EF when I was diagnosed with HF was in the low 20s, last time I was tested it was nearly 40. My symptoms of breathlessness and palpitations have largely disappeared.

Hello. It's a tough drug to tolerate I've found but...you do get used to it. Good old bodies and heart! My last echo showed an improvement on a move from the baby dose to the one up after 14 yrs of heart failure. I'm not sure I believed it as had been feeling very negative about the drug but feel hopeful now. I've reduced my diuretic hugely which was causing the problem I think. Been on a big dose of diuretic for years so a big win. I'm not sure I feel wildly different yet in terms of stamina but I'm absolutely keeping on it now and my potassium has stabilised. My bp is ridiculously low due to medication which causes some tiredness but tolerated. I've not measured it for a while. So yes, it is a good drug (😊) and one they play a long game with now before increasing the dose or trying it. It's hard to read the amazing stories where people tolerate it easily and go to the highest dose but...it is working even on a low dose. So good luck! X

You are welcome. It felt quite lonely on Entresto for a while but we can truly feel we are in an Entresto gang. X

I gave up on Entresto. Gave me an awful cough. My EF improved on its own.

Dear Larivee, thank for sharing your experience of entresto with me. Really appreciated it. Sorry that it gave you awful cough. The sideeffects of being on the highest dose totally incapacitated me. Glad to hear that your EF has improved with out entresto, that has also given me massive hope. Thank you.
