It is always a good idea to ask your prescribing health professional (GP?) or a pharmacist about any interaction between supplements you wish to take and medication so I suggest you do that, even though in this case there is not likely to be a problem.

as Lowerfield says - except my husband and was told to take Omega 3 after his angina attack, indeed it was prescribed along with his other medication.

My opinion would be that you are better off eating oily fish. I read somewhere that some of these supplements do not contain what they say they do, or it can be rancid, so of little use. I try and eat sardines, mackerel or herring about once a week.

I read this yesterday in a book about women’s heart health which said exactly that.

I was advised to have omega 3 foods as they are good for heart health. If you eat oily fish twice a week you will get more than your required weekly amount of omega 3. That is salmon, mackerel, herring, sardines etc. It can either be fresh, tinned or frozen.

Also, don't forget, seeds and nuts contain it too, so adding seeds or nuts to your diet either as a snack or on breakfast cereals, salads etc is a way to increase your intake.

Enjoy

If you decide on canned fish read the label. Canned fish often has lots of sodium in it, which of course is not the best for your blood pressure.

I take one 1,000 mg of fish oil a day am.

I don’t take more than that as I am on Apixaban. ( fish oil can thin the blood a bit.) Done this for a couple of years with no problem.
