Hello :-)

I take it and the same dose

At first it made me go really dizzy but over time I think I have adjusted to it even though now and again I get a little but nothing that I cannot deal with

If you think you can adjust and cope with it then I would carry on if it is affecting you where you cannot cope then talk with your Doctor as here are alternatives that they can try

Let us know how you get on but this does happen to others on this med so be assured it is not just you :-) x

I suffer with dizziness anyway so not sure if the tablet or one of my episodes. I started taking on the 15th September and it's settled down now I am currently on 5 different medications for my heart and now they have my kidney function results they will be starting me on another 2. I feel like a walking pharmacy

Hi I’m on 12.5 I don’t get dizzy but I get tired

I'm on 10mg. I had it built up slowly. It made me dizzy at first, but I got used to it. (My cardiologist said he tells patients to try to push through it because of the long term benefits.) I hardly ever get dizzy nowadays.

Thank you Silvertail.

In the early days, try not to stand up too quickly or turn your head too quickly. My doctor explained to me when I started taking it three years ago that sometimes there could be a fractional "delay" between a quick body movement and your brain catching up, hence the sudden dizziness. Still get it occasionally now but happy knowing it is a very common, momentarily unpleasant side effect of a drug that's doing a lot of good things for you.

Hi, Yes when i first started to take them i was dizzy everytime I sat up or got out of a chair/bed, it was really worrying… But when they started me on a low dose of Bis od 1.25 and even then i felt very tired at first until I got use to them…So when they increased them I wasn’t totally shocked I had a side effect…. . 6 months down the line, it only happens very, very rarely … I have found that my body takes time to get use to these meds.

But with all things to do with meds speak to your GP if your worried.

Good luck.. Ellen

I’m on 2.5 twice a day. No dizziness, but can feel tired.

I'm on 1.25mg Bisoprolol and still occasionally get dizzy if I stand up too quickly. I was initially on 3.75mg which gave me dreadful feelings of impending doom. I don't know how some people can take 10mg or more... I think I wouldn't be here if I took that level of dose.

thank you for your reply, I think I will go back to the GP and change my dose.

I’m on 1.25 and advised my cardiologist of dizziness. He changed time to after evening meal and it stopped immediately.

I was put on it for mitral valve regurgitation which was causing AF. Still on it 4 weeks post valve surgery. Unsure if this will continue long term.

I have valve regurgitation also, no mention of surgery as yet.Take it easy as your heart needs healing, wishing you all the best.

Thank you, Mine was very severe at diagnosis so I went straight on the waiting list. Hopefully you will never need the surgery but if things change please feel free to get in touch. People on here have been so kind and helpful.

Take care x

Hi. I've been on 2.5mg for over 3 yrs (after quad bypass) within the first 6 month the heart failure nurses tried moving me up to 5 mg (even though i was doing well on the levels I was on at the time) needless to say within the 2nd day of 5mg I could barely walk in a straight line and after discussion with my GP I came off the 5mg and back to the 2.5mg. Nurses said that the programme & case sturdies they followed all showed I should be on 5mg but I insisted that I be treated as an individual and not simply a case study. Been happy(ish) ever since on the 2.5mg. I tend to listen to my body and not always the guidelines (in conjunction with my GP of course). best of luck & best wishes on getting to the levels you require.

Yes I did until I'd been on it about a month then I felt OK and have since increased the dose and not felt dizziness xx

I take 1.25 in the evening for heart rate. If I take it in the morning I cannot get my heart rate up when I exercise. I cannot strengthen my heart if I cannot get my heart rate up enough to supply my body with the blood it needs during exercise. My goal is to strengthen my cardiovascular system. How is everyone else doing on this med during exercise? Not exercising is the worst thing for the heart since it will only get weaker without it. So for me it us a must.

I did but turns out it was due to my ramipril and furozemide being to high, get your bloods checked and inform your gp as there causes and after review from gp after bloods will be able to give correct route for you
