Linq recorder

Hi all.

So, I had my Linq recorder implanted 2 weeks ago today. I'm not sure how it works because, I have recorded symptoms on the app that should go directly to the clinic, but no one has bothered to contact me.

I've tried to call them a few times to ask why, but the phone just rings and rings.

The clinic is in the place that I used to work so I know they are good.

Anyone else had this issue?

Are you sure that you've sent the data/done a download? I'm not sure how it works with the app version. I used to have a loop recorder, but it was before mobile apps were developed for these devices. I had a clunky base station next to the bed.

The drill was 1) Press a symptom button on a little remote keyfob to log a symptomatic event. 2) Download data to base station and send to clinic. 3) Phone the clinic symptom "hotline" and leave a message, along with my patient details.

They would usually call back within 24-48 hours, depending on the severity of my data. One the one occasion that a life-threatening rhythm was detected, theycalled me within a few hours of me sending the data. This was on weekdays - not sure what happens at a weekend 🤔.

Hi Blackwolf, I've just joined the site tonight after having a break from here for a few months. I too have a linq recorder (ILR) which was fitted in September last year and like you I've had many episodes during the weeks which I highlight using my activator but no one has ever called me back. I become lightheaded and my heart rate drops to the low 40s or into the 30s which can last for a few minutes or on and off for days etc resulting in it making me feel very tired. I'm currently having a bad spell during the past 2 weeks, but no one has called me about it and its very hard to get anyone to answer your call if you ring them. I had to go to A&E in march due to being tachy which is unusual for me and i was put on a drip for 4 hours to lower my HR before they would discharge me but when I called the pacing team prior to it to check if my linq recorder was showing my HR of 140+ they just said they would get a doctor to check it over...I never heard anything back from them. Its frustrating as we know when we feel unwell and symptomatic but no one calls to check your ok which makes you wonder if its working or not. Best wishes Taz.

I can’t understand these comments at all. I had a Linq fitted earlier this year. Just this week I have been contacted by cardiologist to say they have detected Afib and as a result I am now on blood thinners. Are you using the device at the side of your bed or the key ring device if you are away from home? Also are you sure the home device is picking up a signal? (I was told to check this by the department when I was concerned I hadn’t heard from them) I live in the Portsmouth area.

I use the app on my phone and the homepage tells you that's its active and when it connects to the clinic.

Never used the app, didn’t know there was one.

I have contacted the pacing team on a couple of occasions to check the machine is working with me being symptomatic at times and they tell me it is. I also use my key fob to highlight episodes as they happen and perform a manual download using the handset of my base unit so yes it's working but frustrating too when things must be ok but I'm still symptomatic. Also I didn't know they had an app for the linq recorder to use with your phone? I will look into it.

It seems as though your trust is on the ball! Which trust is it?

I used to work on cardiac theatres and its the same unit that did my linq so I know, well I thought I knew, that they were good. I guess I was wrong...

I have an appointment with my cardiologist next month so I will raise it with him as I'm not sure if all is ok. Yes they tell me they are receiving the data but if I'm having regular episodes especially during the last 2 wks and a day at A &E earlier on this year makes me question it. As they say no news is good news but I'm still no clearer on what's happening even after having the ILR fitted.
