Had my operation date above.had all my dressings and stitches removed last friday.
My questions are when can i have a bath as feel dirty just using a flannel etc.i dont bath by sitting i kneel as had a accident years ago with my spine which prevents me from sitting.
2nd question...Weird sensation but how long do i have the uncomfortable,tight feeling in my chest. feels like the scars move when i move and disrupts my sleep.
thank you

Glad to hear that you are on the mend and feel like taking a bath { nothing nicer than feeling clean } the Nurse that removed your dressings etc should have told you about bathing after such a large wound.
Basically you can wash it down with water and a very mild soap solution { very } don't rub the area but pat dry, I was told not to soak in the bath { but judging by your post you don't do this anyway}
Do not use talc/body spray.
As for the tight chest scars and that odd feeling of movement , well believe it or not you are extremely new on your heart operation recovery.
Even today { two years on } my scar still is tight on my chest, mine is helped with e45 cream but you will have to check first with your nurse, I think its to soon for your scar, but who knows.
An incredible amount of healing is still going on under the surface of your skin, as muscle tissue mends and nerve ends come back to life.
I know that you are one of life's worriers , but you are doing fantastically , just give yourself a little longer to heal.
