I've just been diagnosed with an Atrila Flutter after years of being told that my racing heart were panic attacks and to use relaxation techniques. I was admitted to hospital last week end with back pain and a racing heart that took from Thursday to Sunday to come down. I've been prescribed medication to thin the blood and reduce the heart rate as well and my normal blood pressure medication. But I still feel that I am lacking in energy. I tried to go for a short stroll yesterday and managed just a short distance before my legs became heavy. I'm also finding I'm nervous of having another attack. Is this normal and how long will it be before I'm more like me. On a plus note I do feel better than I did last weekend and my sleep pattern has improved

Hello & Welcome :-)

The reason you could be feeling tired is the new meds you are taking it could be a side effect and maybe as you adjust to them it could all settle down of course if it continues you would have to speak with your Doctor

It is normal to feel nervous after we have had a heart attack we can spend a while feeling nervous in case we have another and your bad attack you had last weekend will have left you shaken up but slowly you will get your confidence back give it time :-)

There is a big positive that you are feeling better than last weekend which is great try and focus on those positives for now and hope the rest will follow

Those that suffer with AF I am sure will come along and give you some good advice when they see your post and you will know you are not alone on how you feel :-) x

Hey

Firstly welcome!

I definitely think you should speak to the doctor if it continues but it's natural to be nervous.

From my experience my meds can make me tired. Especially if it gets changed.

If you feel better already, that's a massive positive.
