Well, my HealthUnlocked friends, I have met with my heart specialist and PCP to evaluate my progress so far and I am happy to inform the group that everything has improved including my weight loss. I have been put on another dialectic medication every other day that has helped with water weight and have been following the calorie counting advice with walking 2 miles every day and it seems to be working so far. I initially dropped 4 lbs./ water weight but now seem to be farther losing a 1/2 lb. per week. Yeah! This is going to be a constant fight to lose weight now, with all the medications I am on (7 different ones twice daily) but I am determined to lose the extra 30 lbs. my doctors say I need to lose in order for me to be healthier and help relieve the strain on my heart, after all, I want to see my grandkids grow up! Thanks for ALL the advice and encouragement, it has made a difference in my life, Thank you!

That is fantastic news! I am so happy for you about the weight loss too. My doctor and the nurses all say that 1-2 pounds per week is the perfect amount of weight to lose per week because you are more likely to keep the pounds off for good. So, well done, you!

I have lost 30 pounds in the last 11 months. It has sometimes been hard and the numbers don’t always work out to 1-2 pounds per week, but it feels better to have lost some weight. My motto is to just keep going in the right direction.

Again, congrats to you on your progress!

Well done for your weight loss. Sometyimes progress can seem very slow and indeed weight can plateau and just stick there. However eating less does mean that otherwise the weight would likely have increased. I reckon the amount of walking I did and the modest decrease in calories should have lost me 1 pound per month. As it stayed the same I consoled myself by reckoning that without my measures it would have INCREASED by 12 pounds over the year.

That's brilliant news Mov3on - and well done on all your efforts, I'm so glad that your hard work and dedication is working for you. I've read lots of articles through the years that always say losing 1-2lbs a week is the best way forward as it helps to keep weight off when you lose it gradually like this as it helps to 're-train' your body when it's over a longer length of time.
