Stress/ anxiety's impact on peri and myocarditis?

I've had such brilliant support and information from my first post, thank you everyone who's taken to time to reply. I've got a follow up question.. as I'm sat here at my desk, at home, doing some work I have become more aware of my heart beating... have people recovering from Myocraditis and/ or pericarditis found that stress and anxiety effect their symptoms as well as physical exertion? Warmest wishes.

Hello :-)

I do not know much about your condition but I do know with any condition stress and anxiety can play a big part in the symptoms we feel

Maybe start some relaxation meditation and see if this helps :-) x

Oh yes! Anything that raises the heart rate could potentially trigger symptoms. When they say rest, they mean physical and mental. I found stress was my biggest trigger.

You'll probably find as well that you are more aware of your heart anyway as you've had a stressful experience with it. As BeKind said (nice to see you back btw) give meditation and breathing exercises a go... I find the 4-6 breathing method can help get palpitations under control if they bother you.

Thank you again... I've thought i could keep up with my work... due to deliver an online course next week... wondering if that's a bit silly??

It's really difficult to say, we all react differently to different stressors... it's maybe worth running it past your GP and your employer tbh.Purely anecdotal here, but I didn't take the time off I was advised to (was wfh, desk job - but very stressful) and it delayed my recovery. So I always advise carefully considering stress... maybe going on phased return if possible?
