Hello I'm new here please can anyone tell me what decompansated heart failure as its in my last consultation notes is it the same as heart failure should I worry.
Heart failure: Hello I'm new here... - British Heart Fou...
Heart failure
Dear you,
I can understand your worry and it is very odd that you have not been told why they have paced you in this particular type of heart patient group.
Mine also reads the same, but the reason for mine { I was told } is that they don't feel that I am responding as well as they would like me to be responding after the surgery /pace maker and the drugs.
But remember that is me and it can be a blanket term for a lot of different things, you need to contact your Dr/Cardiologist to let them explain why they have used that term for you condition.
Please don't over worry until you have that answer for like Heart Failure its a term that is used to generalise some heart problems.
Take care
P.S How very rude of me, a warm welcome to the forum, I hope that it will help support you with both the information and experiences of it members.
Thank you for your welcome had my heart attack in April this year came totally out of the blue was just recovering from covid doctors decided not to stent was told I needed bypass surgery this was also later withdrawn now on what they call optimal medical management daily medication.
Welcome to the group. There are quite a few of us diagnosed with that horrible term - heart failure. It does not mean that your heart has failed, merely that it is not as efficient as it should be.
For many of us it can be greatly improved with the latest meds. I also have a pacemaker which seems to have helped.
The main BHF website has lots of useful information, and if you are referred to a cardio rehab course I can recommend it.
I hope you find some useful advice. 😘
I am currently waiting for an Echocardiogram to confirm if I'd o have heart failure as had a BNP blood test and it came back as abnormal the decompansated heart failure was in my last consultants report at our last meeting over the last couple of months have been feeling breathless and dizzy on exertion and sometimes at rest that's why my GP ordered the Echocardiogram it's the not knowing if I do or do not have heart failure that is worrying me.
