I have ASD procedure this Friday. It's been a long road to diagnosis and now I am finally here the past few days I am feeling depressed and angry. Don't want to get out of bed. Can advise?

ASD procedure
I had this done years ago and positively lept out of bed with renewed energy the next morning. I had felt miserably tired for months/years before. Do you know the details of the intevention? Was it a very large hole? What did they tell you about the porcedure? Why did they want to close the hole?I am in favour of closures because as in my case it caused a TIA stroke and there was also an enbolism involved. I think if you had some details you might feel less depressed and see it as lucky that they wanted to do it .
Yes that's true! I do feel very lucky especially when you say how life changing this can be. It's a 2cm hole with enlarged right ventricle. It's a catherter procedure.Thank you for your reply. Appreciate it.
about the same size as mine and also with enlarged right ventricle. If the ASD had impinged on the quality of your life it is more than likely you will feel better now ...and... removing that risk of TIA/or embolism (quite common I understand) has to be a good idea. Did they tell you if they thought it had been with you since birth?Mine most likely had but i lived a full life. Still cracking on at 84.Good luck and i wish you well.
