My monitor came with very detailed instructions about what all the lights and things meant, and what to do. Mine is a different device, so I can't help with the details, but if you can't find a satisfactory answer in the supplied info, you need to ring the department that fitted it. Failing that you could try 111, the NHS helpline.
Dear Mapel22
When mine was fitted {Same model } I was given the choice of the home monitor or the phone app.
I opted for the phone app and have had no problems with it, very simple and they can get information off it whenever they need it, no bells and whistles and no flashing anything.
Maybe you can have it changed to one? your pacemaker clinic will have the answer to that and also to how your home monitor works.
Take care
If this is happening during the night then probably it's the software being updated. But there's no harm in contacting your pacing clinic just to make sure. Good luck
Hi Mapel22, I have had my Medtronic units for over 3 years and mind has done the disco thing several times (once during the night which was a bit disconcerting), my local hospital technician said it was when the unit had done a software update and the old power off for 30 seconds has always worked. When the power is reinstated the unit goes through an initial set up and then goes out.Regards

Hi Mapel22, I have the same device for my pacemaker and the green light in the middle tends to come on whenever there is light in the room or when it picks up a movement. Normally, when it is completely dark, the green light goes off, but the device is still working at the background. So the light coming on and off is not an issue at all and it is how it works, but when the green light goes round and round, that means that the device is sending information to the place which does the monitoring (the hospital or pacing unit). This again, it is normal. The hospital (monitoring unit) have specific timetable downloads arranged so that the device sends them the information stored on the Medtronic; they may do regular downloads to monitor the situation. As far as I know, if there was a problem, the doctor that monitors your's husband's device will know first before you. For example, if the device fitted identifies an issue, then it communicates with the main monitoring station and informs them that there was an issue and what the issue is. Of course, If in doubt, it is always useful to get in touch with the monitoring unit at the hospital or to the place that does the monitoring and they should be able to check if the device has communicate with their servers. I hope that this helps.
