Hi For the past 4 months afer receiving my I C D my pauls has be between 50-52 bpm Last week for some reason it has shot up to between 110-117 and there it has stayed. . Arrange to see my nurse on Monday. How do they get back down again? Fireing my I C. D ? Regards

I'm no expert but I would think if you're already on a beta blocker then they'll increase the dosage. If you're not already taking a BB then they'll probably add that to your list of meds. I can't think of any reason why your ICD would increase your HR as it doesn't affect how your heart works other than pacing it out of a high rhythm, though some people have the pacing on the ICD adjusted to stop their heart rate going too low.
