I received a letter from the hospital with findings from MRI. It might as well be in a foreign language!!! How can I find someone who can explain it to me?

Hi. A Letter should have been sent to your Doctor telling him the Results. Try him on Monday. I know what you mean though, some of the Posts on here I have not got a clue what they are, not unless they are in Plain English lol!! :)

Dear you,

You have had a copy of the letter sent to your GP, he/she will be able to explain it to you or contact the surgery and get the specialist nurse to call you back.

Try not to worry, they use language that is designed for us not to understand unless you really want to troll the net to try and decipher it.

Take care

You can always try the Cardiology nurse at your hospital or the medical team at BHF. I hope you get some clarity. ❤️

I tend to use Google and a bit of research. The terminology of medics, does at time seem to be unnecessarily unintelligible.

I would suggest giving the BHF helpline a call. I found them really helpful in making sense of results.

Try your GP. My discharge letter after heart attack may as well have been written in Chinese. My GP went through it all with me.

Hi

As most people have already said, the letter is meant for your GP. These days patients are copied. Soon patients will be able to access their records. One of the issues is that many of the letters, records are meant for health professionals , not us. As most people have already said, contacting your GP is the best option. You could try the cardiac nurse at the BHF?

Take care
