You don't state what the medication was prescribed for and what exactly your problem is.If you had water retention (swollen ankles) and/or slightly high blood pressure your GP probably gave you the indapamide for it.
If it did not control your BP efficiently then another type of BP would be added. In your case it is a Calcium Channel Blocker Amlodapine.
Bear in mind that a common side effect of Amlodapine is water retention.
i have ME and started treatment for my raised blood pressure after an episode of Takotsubo - like you i have unusual reactions to medications sometimes. so ia ma always wary of a new one
i thought i was doing ok with Candesartan alone but had a review with a new consultant - she was very helpful in explaining that controlling BP with medication can be very individual and that it is often more effective to add a second hypertensive mediation which acts in a different way, rather than just increase the dosage of a single one - also it is sometime a bit "trial and error" finding the best combination for an individual
after this i felt happier about having to try another medication - unfortunately that one did not agree with me and i stopped it after 4 days, the consultant prescribed a different one very promptly and things have proceeded well for me from there
i can't predict how your meds will affect you but i would suggest you try talking to a pharmacist about introducing the amlodipine gradually in case of side effects - the cardiologist i saw was perfectly happy for me to wait until i fully recovered from the previous side effects before starting the replacement - it's your body, your decision in the end
