Hi
I would really love to hear from anyone that as an aneurysm (mine is 4.4cm) and had a Myocardial Perfusion stress test. I am booked in to have one on the 12th October and I'm worried if my aneurysm can take the strain.
Morning, I had an aneurism of the aortic root, which was at 5.4cm’s when found. I had an echocardiogram followed by Aortogram and CT Aortogram. I never had the stress test probably as my condition was further progressed. Put your trust in the technician specially trained to facilitate the test. Whilst listening to the professionals, I also did my own research by reading various studies and publications to cross check what I was being told. My operation came some 4 months after. Good luck. In my case I am waiting for another CT aorta with contrast dye as a recent echocardiogram showed a query dilated aortic arch of 4.2cm. Obviously, I am as worried as you. Kind regards, Andy
I can quite see how you will be anxious about this test putting pressure on the aneurysm. This is exactly the kind of question your Cardiac team will answer. Have you discussed this with one of them?
Locally we get a pre-procedure assessment, a week or two beforehand, where the staff give plenty of time to answering all my questions.
Perhaps worth checking you will get this opportunity?
