Hi Having had CA in 2018 I never thought about Afib but since then I have had 2 bouts. I have an ICD so am monitored by Harefield and they informed me. As a result my Bisoprolol was increased from 5 to 7.5and i was also put on Rivaroxaban 20 mg.I've had 2 cardioversions and at the moment my heartbeat is fine. Have given up alcohol as this doesn't go well with Afib. make sure you talk to the right people and good luck
I had one bout of AF in 2017, and in the A&E was given potassium as my levels were low. Since then I haven't had a recurrence, but I always take electrolyte tablets every day. The heart rhythm is controlled by a complicated series of chemicals, in minute quantities, and it is this which I think can cause the problem. Too often the symptoms are treated rather than the cause, so check your chloride, potassium, sodium and magnesium levels. It may not be that for you, but no harm in checking. Good luck!
