Just started treatment for AF on edoxaban 60mg and bisoprolol fumarate 1.25mg. Feeling washed out and no energy. Has anyone experienced this

Hi Azaelia

Just to let you know that there is a Health Unlocked forum on Health Unlocked which is just for people with AF. Link here:

By the way, from what I've read there, people have found it better to take their Bisoprolol at night. The dose you are on is quite low. Are you sure that it's the meds causing your tiredness not your AF

Yes, say it's making you tired in the day.

Azaelia,

You need to discuss it with your doc, but I moved my bisoprolol 1.25mg from the morning to mid-afternoon, and that really helped with the fatigue.

Hope you feel better soon.

Yes. They. Make me tired and I can doze easily now. My pacemaker is not doing much evidently

I had same issue with bisoprolol. Fatigue and breathlessness. Couldn't tolerate even small dose. They took me off it.Definitely worth feeding back to your GP. Some tolerate it well, some don't. Good luck!

I take my 5mg bisoprolol before bed because it makes me tired. Unfortunately I've had to add an extra one in the mid morning now which is 2.5mg and originally was just meant to be a pill in the pocket. If I take 7 5mg before bed my head is still really foggy in the morning 🤔

I take 2.5 mg bisoprol in the morning after breakfast as I was told it's to slow my heart rate during the day as heart rate will slow at night while a sleep due to inactivity. Yes I do feel tired and fatigue about 2 in afternoon I have now been on meds three years.

Definitely speak with your doctor. I could not tolerate bisoprolol for numerous reasons. For me, it caused a sharp increase of PVCs , overwhelming fatigue, and also debilitating back pain. Others seem to have no problems with this medication. Good luck….there are other options!

Hi Azaelia, I have AF and am taking 60mg of Edoxaban. I also take 2.5 Bisoprolol in the morning . I have been taking these 2 years now after my OHS and although I don't have the energy I used to have I am able to do up to 8 mile undulating walks. I think it takes time for your body to get used to any new medication.
