Post Heart Attack advice

I suffered a heart attack on 6 th March in Spain, and since I arrived home ,I have had no appointment or contact with my local hospital, even although my doctor has referred me to the Cardiology dept, and rehab. It is now 1 month since my attack and I have only seen my own doctor. I am keen to start exercising, but don't know if this is too soon. I really want my appointment with cardiology, but so far I don't know what I should be doing, any advice would be helpful, thank you

It’s too soon to start anything other than light walking . It takes around 6 weeks to hear from cardiologist department in the hospital ( well it did for me) rest up for a bit , you got your life back and for now ,,, just inhale smell the flowers and allow your body to heal xx

I suggest you talk to the medical secretary in the cardiology department at your local hospital, who should be able to help you find out what is planned for you.

As far as exercise is concerned talk to the BHF Heart Help line

They might suggest joining their online course

But if all else fails go back to your GP.

Recommended time is 6 weeks after I think. They lost my referral so it was about 10 weeks for me - and 3buses away !
