Details for Professor Peter Colins Royal Brompton

Hi

I had a phone consult with Professor Colins from Royal Brompton several weeks ago, he’s going to change 3 of my meds but the details haven’t come through to my Gp to prescribe the new meds.

His secretary isn’t replying to myself or Gp despite weeks of leaving messages, I’d like a direct email which hadn’t been included on my letter.

If anyone can help I’d be very grateful.

If I go through switchboard they want to know which part of cardiology I need, if I give his name, they don’t know who he is, and I haven’t lost my marbles, I did have my phone consult and he is changing my meds, very frustrating, Gp has even gone through my local hospital to get details but still no luck 🙄

It may be they have Covid and nobody is dealing with their mail.

Hi Ninjanoo

Just thought I’d check up on how you’re getting on ?

I had the same problem with them. I had to chase them and get my GP to chase them to no avail. I eventually got a reply via email from his secretary. I'll pm you the address just to make sure you have it. I got nothing from them for over 2 months, no letter via snail mail, no email zilch!

I have to say my Prof in north London always responds to my emails usually within a few days.

I need to clone him!

Hello Fluffybee

Happy New Year, hope you had a good Christmas. Read your post and couldn’t believe it. Maybe it’s a parallel universe 😩 sorry I can’t help as you know I am in Scotland. Really hope there is someone on the forum that can help out, what about Milkfairy?

You are sorely missed on the forum, how many walnut whips over Christmas 😂

Take good care Pauline xxx

Thank you, Pauline, just spoken to my Gp and I think I’m being doubted I even had a telephone consult, I’ve found the letter confirming my appointment, date and time, so they hopefully will now believe me now if they didn’t before and try and get through from a different angle 🙄

Awwwww I miss being on here as well but not sure if I’m not sensible enough, obviously I talk about my condition and look on the bright side with a few things that get me by ( walnut whips) but reading a few posts on here recently I noticed people are leaving the group because of some people being unkind, I don’t know who’s who anymore and don’t want to offend anyone talking about happy things that help me cope 🥴

How are things with you ? Xx

Morning,

We are doing not too bad, I had a couple of hiccups November time not heart related, kidneys blood test numbers were down again but they stabilised. I developed an abscess under a tooth, must admit kept thinking of you never felt pain like it. Had a week of antibiotics and then my dentist pulled the tooth. She said the root of the tooth had died so it had to go.

I really hope you consider coming back to the forum, there was a couple of upsetting things that happened, but things seem to have settled back to the helpful and safe place it’s always been. We need to talk about happy things, as well as the sometimes hard worrying health issues, your posts always made me smile. That is needed as well as all the good advice we can receive.

Hope you get the information you need quickly,

Very best wishes to you

Pauline xxx

I will send you a message.I have the details tucked away somewhere.

You could go through PALS, the Patient Advisory Liaison Service.

Hi Fluffybee. I would definitely contact PALS. you may need to leave a message but they do get back to you as soon as they can and can be really helpful.

Don’t stop trying. It worked for me.

In the mean time lots of hugs.

Hey Fluffybee how’s the tooth/abcess? Hope you got it sorted & walnut whips are back on the menu. 🤗

Hey MissisF

I’ve only recently had my tooth eventually teeth out as it took so long, stitches out now and swelling on the way down ‘still’

Oh walnut whips!!!!!!!!!!!! I can happily do a hole in one now, including nut 😂😂 took practice. As I’ve had plenty of practice I’ve got it down to a fine art and the angle correct, to achieve the right result lol

Personally I like to enjoy the nut first, then go for the rest 😂😂

Makes good practice for all meds to down in one !! Xxx

Can't help you with trying to find that elusive consultant Fluffybee but Walnut Whips sound a great pick me up! Good luck xx

I've missed you (and the talks about walnut whips!!).

Exactly the same thing happened to my husband! Meds were changed by the consultant but the message didn't travel to our GP at all.

18 phone calls to track down the consultant's secretary finally paid off. Within 2 days emails were flying and meds were changed.

A very happy and healthy new year to you and yours. Love Jan xxxx

Hi Fluffybee, Google Professor Peter Collins Imperial. At the end of a very long article you should find a phone number, email address and location. Good luck

Hi all, my son had a heart attack 2 weeks before Xmas he's 35 and back living at home 😱. He's recovering but hasn't been able to get back to work yet. The trouble he had when I told him to phone his consultants secretary, he said he just got pushed round from hospital to hospital for an hour, obviously on the home phone line so it didn't cost him anything 🙄 I couldn't understand it but is that the new normal? I know I've hijacked the post but can someone give us Ideas of what he can ask when he gets his telephone call from the hospital next week? Regards and thanks in advance Sheena x
