Warfarin after aortic valve replacement

My son Shane had his surgery one week ago

today . He is doing extremely well despite a chest infection on Saturday which is

clearing up well .

We were waiting on a echo scan but as they are so short staffed due to covid absences they said they would call him

back as an out patient .

The thing that concerns me now is his warfarin levels aren’t rising as fast as they would like . He is sitting at 1.53 and they need him at 2

Warfarin is something I know very little about . I thought he popped a pill , job done … so I’m going to look into it today but I thought I’d ask the educated people on here before I go googling. I hate google it fills me with anxiety 😥
