Just for clarification, are you asking if you should take tamsulosin for heart failure or should you be taking it if you have heart failure?
My husband has had heart failure since 2012 & he's been taking tamsulosin since 2017, his medical team have never raised any issues about it. If you're taking it and you're concerned I would speak to your pharmacist as they're the experts on meds.
thanks for your reply, no i have heart failure and been given TAMSULOSIN for enlarged prostate, MICK
In SOME circumstances Tamsulosin should not be taken in the presence of heart failure. If you have any concerns you should discuss them with your medical team. Tamsulosin reduces an enlarged prostate and should not be stopped without medical advice!
Hi sark208, I was on tamsulosin before my HA but combined with heart meds suffered from very low BP. In agreement with GP, I stopped the tamsulosin. I felt the enlarged prostate symptoms were better than further heart problems 😁
You need to consult your medical team, GP or whatever. We could recommend all sorts, but you would be ill-advised to take them. I have heart failure, and have been on Ramipril, and now Entresto. I depends on the cause, and your other conditions.
