Hello,
There are a few members of the forum who have experienced a stress event causing Takostubo cardiomyopathy.
Cardiomyopathy UK has some information and they have a helpline. Hopefully they will be able to help.
Hi Harrison4,
I had a Takotsubo event last October. I've learned an awful lot about the condition from the Takotsubo Support Group on Facebook, which I found mentioned on the BHF site. All of the most up-to-date research can be found there, including that of Professor Dana Dawson at Aberdeen University who also did a really useful presentation as part of the February 2021 BHF Live &Ticking event.

Takotsubo can have an emotional or physical stress trigger or no trigger at all, but it is a serious condition, and there are many different experiences of treatment and recovery.
I know how lost I felt when it first happened to me, so I hope that helps with some more sources of information.
No, but I had a heart attack after being harrased, I've been diagnosed with Coronary vasospasm but I think it's similar, as heart spasms due to stress.
I had takasubo attack last may…I had no pain, no stress.just fell down outside suddenly.they did angiogram, echo etc but no damage other than a misshaped left ventricle. Came home on a lot of meds which I’m still taking. Just very tired all the time I’m in canada.
