Hi Herb61, you are never alone on this site, we are all here for each other. This dammed Covid lark is slowing everything down, but I am sure you will hear something soon. You can access the NHS rehab program on you tube, and I think others on here will be able to tell you of other ways of accessing the rehab exercises. Take care.

If you get a chance for rehab classes take it. There you will learn good exercise regimes, discuss diet and more importantly meet others with whom you can share experiences. In the meantime the BHF have excellent free advice sheets for exercise and diet.

Hi Herb - I’m having rehab, albeit over the phone, after a HA in April this year. The main benefit has been the psychological support. Some hospitals have psychologists so it might be worth asking, or asking your GP, if you feel you’d benefit from that.

The physical advice was helpful - really it’s to aim for 150 minutes of exercise that raises your heart rate per week and do strength and flexibility exercises. I worried about overdoing it - advice is to apply the “talk” test. So you should be out of breath, but able to hold a conversation. There are workouts on the BHF website which range in fitness level. Start at level 1, when that gets easier move up. The workouts don’t need any special equipment - they’re also on YouTube.
