H F. Hi l have recently been told l have Heart Failure they tried me on Candesartan but it lowered my Blood pressure too much they did say to come off for 2 weeks and try again l have since spoken to Nurse who wants to put me on Spironolactone l am at a loss knowing what to do tried to speak to my specialist no joy so far any advice would be appreciated. What is the problem? When first diagnosed with Heart Failure it took my health specialists four years juggling my medication to get an acceptable level of tolerance and side effects. Even now, after five years, I have constant reviews.

What dose are you on? They can probably lower it. I was on 8mg then 4mg then 2mg then 2mg every other day (Cardiologist recommended that quite a while ago). Now don’t even need as much as that most of the time. I know that one is supposed to take it regularly but i dont dare do so cos occasionally my bp goes way too low which makes me feel really bad.Have you heard Sanja Gupta (York cardiology) on the subject of bp? Worth listening to.
