How many here like us had needed heart surgery postponed in last 12 months? Still waiting? Hoping for it to be in this next COVID lull?

Still concerned that some Trusts, NHS generally not attending to non-COVID life threatening, time critical surgeries as they should be.

Same with my son, he passed away in December, I am now awaiting medical notes from hospital due to negligence.

Hi. Mine was due last March had the Pre-Op in January. By - Pass with 2 Valves changed. Classed as Urgent, had it in September (postponed due to Covid). Was in for 6 weeks alltold, two different Hospitals, where I had to have a Dual Pacemaker fitted as well. Have to say though, the care in both was absolutely outstanding😊😊

I was lucky. I was due to have a pacemaker fitted in January, but a cancellation meant I was offered a slot in the autumn. The January op would probably have been cancelled.

I'm very sad to see the losses people have suffered related to covid delays, this really is awful. My surgery has been delayed due to covid but will likely be in a couple of months, I'm okay currently to wait as there will be others needing their treatments more urgently. Wishing you all the best

I am too. It must be absolutely devastating for everyone who has lost someone through Covid. This, unfortunately, is what we've ALL had to deal with. Not just Heart Patients either. The Hospitals are 'Overwhelmed ' with a huge back-log to catch up with as well. Personally, I think the NHS are doing a fantastic Job. Just glad we've got them!!

No problems for me. I had an angiogram in December, and am on the list for a bypass operation in May/June. I was told there are no delays because of Covid. Here's hoping they are right.

Well my elective surgery was never going to take place last year due to Covid / time consuming Covid protocols after restart / huge waiting lists / and finally of course TRIAGE. That lovely word that is used to push you further down the queue.I took stock of the situation, got a lot fitter by myself, and elected not to bother!!!!

This really concerns me. More people are now going to die of non covid health conditions than covid itself. I struggle to get a doctors appointment and when I do its rushed and I get the impression that im just being a nuisance.

There has to be a balance and there isn't. It appears to me that the NHS is in turmoil .

I had urgent surgery in August, six weeks after the consultation. It would have been quicker but they had to rearrange the rotas for 2 consultants to work together due to the complexity
