Hi my dad went in for a heart check up and unfortunately had a cardiac arrest when there. They said he only had 6% of his heart working. Would he of been still here if doctor had given him water tablets 2 weeks prior when his ankles were swollen. Not blaming anyone just wish I had done more 😢

I'm not a doctor so can't comment on would this or that treatment have delayed the inevitable. But I do know that your dad would have been horrified at the thought of you beating yourself up.
You did everything you possibly could, and I'm sure your father was grateful for every scrap of your abundant love, assistance, and devotion...I know that because that's just what dad's are like.
Good morning Amyleigh1234,
So sorry to read your post, when we lose someone like a parent, we all ask the same question could I have done more. The answer is usually no, you sound like a caring loving daughter, and I am sure your father wouldn’t want you to beat yourself up. Asking the question about water on his ankles that would possibly have been a symptom of his heart struggling, but again who knows. Having a cardiac arrest can happen completely out of the blue.
I send you my sincere condolences,
Pauline
