Hello can’t say I'm currently recovering as had my surgery 4 years ago, but I can tell you that what is facing you is no where near where you are imagining it will be. You will be well taken care of you will not have any pain, and if you follow the instructions you are given on breathing exercises and walking it will be all good.

When you get home listen to your body if it says I am tired then you rest, carry on with your breathing exercises I called them huffing and puffing😂 they really help. Small walks, I used to count lamp posts I would try and get to the next one every day, you will get your stamina back but it does take time.

Remember your medical team do this as their day job and will really take good care of you.

I wish you the very best let us know how you go

Best wishes Pauline

Hi just recovering from surgery myself, trying to walk a bit each day, never thought of counting lamp poles, that is an excellent idea, thanks for sharing char

Hope your doing ok, weather up here can be unhelpful still find windy days a pain!

It's a really good idea, I am the same with the wind, I went out yesterday thinking it was between showers, got to the corner and down it came, typical grrr, just back from clinic, everything seems to be fine at the moment, char

Great to read you are doing ok, made my granddaughter laugh this morning she is in Perth Australia we were on FaceTime and I was saying about trying to Power walk thinking I was going really well when this young woman passed me as if I was standing still😂 eventually saw the funny side.

Waiting is the worst part, I was in hospital for 7 weeks before my op, then transferred to the Golden Jubilee in Glasgow, so that 7 weeks while they got me fit enough for the op seemed like an eternity! So know how our imagination can take over. Just focus on when you have been heart mended, and travelling on the road to recovery. You will be fine.

Best wishes Pauline
