Hello and welcome to the forum! Amlodipine works for about 24 hours so dropping alternate days is not a sensible option. You need to talk with your GP or cardiologist. They may then want to try you on alternative BP medication.
Hi i missed it sometimes because my blood pressure goes down to90/60. I felt dizzy already x
Amplodopine is a CCI (Calcium Channel Inhibitor). There are alternative CCIs available as I believe 5mg is the minimum Amplodopine dose. You do need to speak to your GP as other BP medications are available.
So pleased you explain what the abbreviations mean, it helps the numb ones like me, so often I have to find out what the letters mean before I can read a post properly. Thank you.
No worries... A while ago we asked people to expand an abbreviation the first time it is used. Sadly this met with little success. This with some abbreviations having different meanings depending where used and the vagaries of predictive text can lead to misunderstanding! An example is aVR means augmented voltage right arm and AVR means aortic valve replacement.
Me too. I get utterly exhausted during the day, and my while body aches.
Ps What is Wanky Donkey?
Hi Zully, I am sure we can help you on the forum, we just need a little more information. What statin are you on and is it 8mg or 80mg?
A little background on your condition would be good as well.
Thanks.
I was on amlodipine, flecainide and atorvastatin.
My BP went too low and my ankles became swollen so I stopped Amlodipine altogether.
My BP is fine now and my HB is around 55 bpm.
My cholesterol counts are low but was put on a statin. The reason I was taking it was not to decrease cholesterol more but for depression and a high CRP as it is also an antinflamitory.
CRP is a marker for inflammation and infection.
Simvastatin is better than Atorvastatin for depression as it penetrates the brain better.
