Hi I found some info in the attached document that may be of use: plymouthhospitals.nhs.uk/co...

It mentions a risk assessment form under the section 'Risk and Healthcare workers'

Not sure what your job role is but check out general guidance in the attached: cipd.co.uk/knowledge/fundam...

It's no good an employer saying GP letter is not enough without going on to give further guidance on what evidence they do need or a plan for doing a risk assessment due to your & GP concerns.

Hope this helps as first port of call

Ask for a full risk assessment to be carried out. Every employer has a duty of care towards employees. This should identify all risks and any mitigation that can be put in place to reduce risk. One thing they can do to mitigate risk is to temporarily change your job role or even place you on furlough, although I don't know if furlough applies to the NHS. The letter from your GP will support a change in job role.

Recently the government have been saying employers who do not take reasonable care could be subject to prosecution by The Health and Safty Executive. This is a criminal prosecution that can be taken against individuals. I'm part of the senior management team for a charity, we aren't reopening the office base anytime soon because we feel that is the correct thing to do. But had we been in any doubt the threat of prosecution under Health and Safety legislation would of pushed us in that direction.
