Pacing device and Coronavirus risk

My wife is having a defribulator fitted in a couple of days to correct a slow heart rate. She is 56 and very healthy otherwise. I’d like to know if she would still be considered in a high risk category for Coronavirus after the device is fitted and her heart rate is normalised?

Hello

Difficult for anyone to advise only an expert could answer your question.

I thought all NHS Trusts had stopped doing routine surgery during this Corona Virus Crisis.

Difficult to say, as Prada47 wisely wrote "only an expert could answer your question".

I am 56, have had a defibrillator/pacemaker for 11 years now, but also have other health issues besides hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which warranted the ICD/PM implant.

I am also in the U.S., so not sure of the U.K.'s guidelines, but I would definitely talk to her doctor, nurse, or whomever she sees and get a professional to answer your question.

Sorry not much help, but best wishes to you both...🕊️
