Have people with heart conditions survived once catching the virus.

Yes! Just over a week ago a Chinese man, aged 100, was discharged after recovering from Coronavirus. He was suffering from multiple pre-existing conditions, including heart failure, hypertension and Alzheimer’s disease. In my job I dealt with one Chinese hospital. They are as advanced as many in the West.
Been thinking the same
I hope there’s been more than one! It would alleviate people’s anxiety if we heard more stories of people with underlying health conditions or older people recovering from this rather than how many have sadly died who had underlying health issues and the fact that they were elderly.
It is so sad how many families are losing their loved ones. x
I agree imin
Well as I was diagnosed today I certainly hope so or maybe you have just signed my death certificate
I was thinking about you and hoping you wouldn’t see the posts!
Don’t worry about it of course you’ll make a complete recovery! You’re already starting on the recovery road. 🤩👍
That's very sweet of you. In fact although I thought it would be helpful to share I am beginning to regret already that I have.
Please don’t feel like that! You are being so thoughtful considering others on the site and passing useful info despite being so unwell and with a thumping headache. X
Wishing you a speedy recovery keep us updated if you can
I wish you a speedy recovery. I sincerely hope my post has not upset you in any way x
Hey everyone is different, seems like there are differing severity of symptoms too. Be positive, stay away from the news and hopefully you have friends or relatives that can monitor you and buy you essentials? Also phone the helpline.
Think of it as a mini battle most of us have faught worse with our health during and after heart events. We are fighters ❤️
I think because we have heard so much bad news about the virus in the vulnerable it gives us negativity but I hope to hear from more of the people who get better and how we can try to protect ourselves instead of the media scaring us
Hopefully those of us in danger stay clear of infection by following guidelines. At 85 with our multiple problems we still go out for a walk every day to keep our circulation and joints as active as we can.
My recent MIBI heart scan was inconclusive and I'm now waiting for a stress echocardiogram. That too will probably as previous ones give a false positive.
At the moment I'd sooner we lived in a house than a flat without at least 150 other occupants passing through using the lift touching surfaces etc.
Keep positive and just focus on getting well. Are you at home at present?
Yes I am at home and will fight tooth and nail to stay here. Doc was very happy that I am able to provide my vitals to them, she said that's a big help. Dehydration is a major issue for those being hospitalised so am drinking regularly
Wishing you well soon xx
Will have to say again statistics are only of use to aid medics (and governments I suppose) plan care. As an individual no one can tell how you will be but a positive outlook definitely helps outcomes. Lots of research on that.
As one person you have to remember the vast majority survive and I bet if you got the same odds on winning the lottery as the percentage who die you wouldn't win!
