Arrythmia/tachycardia

British, living in France. Arrythmia (becoming tachycardic when panicked). Medication didn’t help, sent for cardioversion this morning, took lots of translated paperwork explaining my 50+ year phobia or blood tests..leading to never having one or having general anaesthesia due to fear of no pre med or sedative by mouth to get me there..long story short, they would not listen to me, wouldnt take notice & I left hospital after one night. Surely UK specialists would listen to genuine phobia and help??

Have you sought treatment for your phobia?

It clearly makes much medical treatment very difficult, so perhaps some treatment would be useful before you next need another medical intervention. Medical treatment depends so much on blood tests to get the necessary information to look after you safely, so in some ways I can understand they were concerned about proceeding without it.

All the best

Have had hypnotherapy (hospital) 3 times..not effectve, psychology, breathing techniques..Etc etc..over many years..need to be sedated before medical procedures..they do in U.K. —ignorance in France W here I live!
