Can Myocarditis/Pericarditis cause you to miss periods? Ever since I started getting ill I have missed a couple of periods but have definitely not been pregnant or had any significant weight loss etc either time.

I have recurrent pericarditis. I've been through the Change but developed the pericardial condition when much younger - it didn't have any affect on my cycle that I could tell.

If you're having cessation of menstruation the best thing is to bring it up soon as with your GP in hope you'll be referred to a gynaecologist.

The cause could simply be early onset perimenopause, your meds (which can be adjusted if they know there is a problem), previously undiagnosed polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or some other gynaecological condition so the only medical advice you should take is to see a trained professional.

Please update once you've been investigated for the cause. I'll be thinking of you!

Hi! I’ve had myopericarditis and my period also stopped in the second month of recovery! I was on contraceptive pills because of a cyst several years ago, and because my myocarditis symptoms kept on going and doctors didn’t know why, I tried making changes in my life, one of which was getting off the pill. My period came back the following month :)
